Bronze Panther Clock Set by Michel Decoux, France around 1910. Art Deco Cubist French Clock set with a 6 side glass clock case, mounted on a brown marble base with stepped chrome tubing. The brown patinated mounted Bronze Panther with inscription "bronze" measures 30 cm  11.76" long and 11 cm  4.3" high.

After a lot of research, the Clock set and the Bronze Panther (although unsigned) can be attributed to Michel Decoux.

The clock movement is by Etienne Duplanil, a jeweller at St. Etiènne France from around 1895. Eight-day clock with a chime. Very good working condition.

Overall Clock Set measurements: 57 cm  22.35" wide   44 cm  17.26" high     13 cm  5" deep.  Weight  21 kg.

Michel Decoux (1837-1924) was a Belgian Sculptor who created among other things several Statues for the Ancient Palais des Princes-évèques in Liège Belgium around 1880. Best known for his bronze figures of wild animals he moved to Paris in the Art Nouveau era and became influenced by Cubism and the Art Deco flow.
